I love that my substack subscription is converging with my YouTube interests. I find this an interesting analysis of her. I didn't think of her as a crazy girl until a couple months ago after said criticism. One factor being oversharing. This video I saw the other day was also very illuminating in terms of her personality. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cMpDR08qFLU. I realized one of the reasons I liked her was because I shared similar personality traits with her. I definitely still like her, but I still hold criticism, as I do of all YouTubers. She hails from the region I live in. The pitfalls in her story she tells others are obvious when you know the area. It's really the lack of transparency of her background and privileges that bothered some people and me. She doesn't need to overshare about her family. It is obvious she is not comfortable sharing that part of her life. Instead, people want her to come to terms with her privilege. Also in a similar vein yet the opposite end, you should check out Kelly Stamps if you haven't. She is a different type of crazy, one that is comfortable with herself the good, bad, and ugly.
I love this so much and now I need to watch these videos. I almost never use YouTube, like some kind of weird monk (or just someone who is old?), and it's not for ethical reasons, just that I have some kind of weird barrier to looking at a video. Why? Anyway, I could go on and started to answer the Normie questions but am too twitchy about my inner-inner life to share publicly. Love this, Safy.

I have to agree. She's obnoxious and tone-deaf at best

This is really great piece! I've watched Ashley's videos for a few months. I love how quick witted and honest she is.
